This book helped me realize the importance of getting clear with my own personal philosophy. The book doesn't tell you anything new but it captures Pete's journey of self-discovery (mostly by trial and error! If you want something that combines the both I would recommend "Get Coached" (dvd) or if you are a Christian "The Biggest Win" (book). I was presuming it would be more of a life coaching type of book but turned out to be far more about Pete Carroll's career.

I guess what Carroll writes strikes me as pretty obvious so maybe the book just isn't for me. The success of Pete Carroll and the teams he has coached in the very critical and sort of "good old boys club" world of the NFL showed me that no matter where I think I am in the wheel of my life or cog of society I am responsible for creating what I want out life.
