My round was not worth $55 considering i can play several other course for the same price with a higher caliber. There are no easy shots here and the par threes are very demanding from the tips. I Recommend This Course I'm told someone is about to sink some money into the course, which it deserves. It the greens were rolling at 10 or above on the stimp meter the course would play difficult. We decided on southern pines for the price and recommendation by a caddy. Love this course.Southern Pines isn't up there with the top tier of Pinehurst resort courses, Tobacco Road, or Pine Needles, but it's a solid Donald Ross track that's very affordable. No apologizes. Not an easy course.

That trip I played Southern Pines twice and had, and still have many fond memories of those two rounds. Conditions (fairways and rough) are improved from then. 95 degrees out and no access to anything to drink. I enjoyed it so much that I invited my manager to go with me in 2000 and he too enjoyed all that Southern Pines had to offer.
When we came in we were directed to the members locker room where tables were set up with a picture of a libation and the remainder of the $2.00 was split up amoungst the top three groups. I grew up playing this course as a kid and was excited to play it again. First time back in a couple of years. I Recommend This Course Valid dates: Jun 06, 2017 - Jun 30, 2020 Fla. Pinehurst, North Carolina Conditions were pretty good, but with some patchy areas in the fairway.
They've never been upgrades since they were built. Play and enjoy this Donald Ross masterpiece as I’ll be back soon!I’ve played SPGC a few time over the past year and typically take different friends with me to introduce them to a true Donald Ross hidden Jen. I Recommend This Course Pinehurst, North Carolina I really look forward to the rebuilding of this Donald Ross Treasure. I can't wait to see what it looks like in a year or two after the soon-to-be new owner gives it some attention.
