Against the Grain is not your average Wexford Street / Camden Street pub! Then we got way too much food to share, we got the fat boy that is a pork and veal brat with sweet onions and spicy mustard..... it was okay. We had the pretzel which was perfect but the cheese lacks being creamy instead of cream cheese. I didn't…""Oh my gosh this place is delicious. However, this time around Tricia at the bar talked me in to the bologna sandwich with house made bologna and beer cheese sauce which was fan freakn tastic! They do like to change brews up but do have some regulars they keep on menu. Per one of the owners , they don't want kids there.
Come for the great Camden Street buzz, stay for the craft beer and simple delicious food. Louisville's only brewer-owned brewery is, like most worthwhile undertakings, the product of dissatisfaction with the status quo. First the amenities... the food was spot on as always. Against the Grain has a great mix of sports bar, with a few large TV showing the popular sporting events and large selection of hard alcohol such as the ever popular local favorite, bourbon as well as brewery with their wide breadth of house made beers and visible brewing equipment (Yep that was the best "run on sentence" of all time.) I would definitely recommend!
I always get the wedge salad which is put over the top by the thick cut bacon cracklins they pile on. this atmosphere will be entertaining for all age groups! Bartender said it was affiliated, but empty. Citra Ass Down is one of my favorite IPAs from ATG. No kids menu. The place is very modern and clean on the inside surprising given the general location. We got a pound of baby back ribs that were falling off the bone tender. The Creamsicle IPA that I had this time is easily one of my top ten favorite beers, and that says alot coming from a kid growing up in Americas Finest IPA city.Against the Grain was my home away from home for a few meals while I was in town on business. There was a decent number of people there at 2pm on a Saturday (in February) so it seems like a popular brewery and I imagine it's even more poppin when it's warm outside.You can't go wrong here! It's conveniently located (co-located) with the baseball field. We also got a half pound of beef brisket which was so juicy and tender......a definite home run. The banh mi was out of this world. Service was ok! It's pouring down rain and I had an absolutely massive carryout order so I waited inside while it was being made, while…""I love the location of this restaurant! They also have a variety of cocktails and a full bar for those who aren't beer drinkers. The staff were friendly. In Louisville for a conference and found this place during my day of exploring.To be completely honest I was selecting between Against the Grain and Holy Grale and didn't really want to go to either. Against The Grain Brewery is located in Louisville, Kentucky and was established in 2012. It’s right there by the Louisville Slugger Field and the bar was quickly crowded with a fun crowd. This is a very unique and funky place, everyone inside was having a casual drink its very spacious and open, art all over the walls and Lord check out the bathrooms...lol.. Home brewed beers of all kinds and colors. I haven't done the brewery tour yet, but they've outdone themselves on the ability to keep new, unique beers on site. )Atmosphere, Atmosphere, Atmosphere!!! The small chopped salad was really fresh with pumpkin seeds.
