There are seals below the lookout point, a rock tunnel to walk through, and a cute bridge leading to the lighthouse! We noticed parking was tight. Somewhat steep incline on the way back from the lighthouse to the parking lot.Stunning!!!!!
Tips and Highlights. Master planned community offering condos, coach homes, carriage homes and courtyard villas as well as tennis and clubhouse facilities. But still a nice walk up to that point.Started the track from Rodeo Lagoon where there is plenty of parking. The lighthouse employees are very informative and provide great info on the lighthouse's history.Lovely paved hike, beautiful views of the bay. On the walk down, you'll pass a popular beach for sea lions to catch some sun.
From the lighthouse to the beach, it will be another 1.5-2 miles there and back. Lighthouse, trails, Mammal research Center...and the view!Beautiful scenery and not too crowded. The walk down to Point Bonita Lighthouse is a hallmark Bay Area experience that offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. We went early in the morning and the tunnel leading to the lighthouse was locked. But u could see that the view should be fantastic on sunny days. Very nice place! Pretty views.
There is way too many people there but it's a fun place to go. Plenty of places to go and things to see.
Had a few different sights to see including old military bunkers, the lighthouse, and view at the top of the hill overlooking SF, GGB, and ocean!Gorgeous views. I went on a gloomy day first thing in the morning after in a light drizzle so we had the trail to ourselves and all the animals were out. Point Bonita is easily reachable by car North of San Francisco, via a scenic road which includes crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Easy parking and many small trails to check out.
