The first half of the book was slow paced, focusing on introducing almost every character whereas the last 20% was packed with action. I saw the movie, but it's been so long I don't even remember it. While reading The Loop, I was carried away into the setting, I understood the main character's tainted perspective and unwillingness to trust due to my own troubled past. I want the 2nd one now, I need it NOW!!

Still, there's romance, nature, hunting, and sex here, and Evans handles all with such grace and restraint where Auel will go on for 100 pages telling you how Ayla makes soup, and then another 100 pages with everyone What sweet joy Nicholas Evans is after putting myself through most of Jean Auel's "Earth's Children" series.
I quit reading it. As a writer, I found the brutal cruelty of Man toward the wolf in The Loop difficult to read, much less fathom, but there is more honest truth written here than most wolf antagonists dare speak of. It was one of the best things my mother ever gave me. It's a masterpiece, and now I'm trying to work my way through his other books.

Best yet, it also gives off some strong, early Pierce Brown vibes (extremely high praise), so all Red Rising fans out there, rejoice! because I've just written book 2 of The Loop trilogy and it's better than book 1... so... you know...Hi hi I have enjoyed your book and looking forward to the second one.
